A small introduction
The Process
The vast majority of the time, when you need any content with my touch, I will shoot it for you.
However, it can happen, as I'm perpetually on the move, that the photo you need is already shot and available. So feel free to reach out to me and ask me what you need. The shown photos here in the gallery are the visible part of the iceberg.
The most common way we will work together is by doing an original creation. I accompany you throughout the whole creative process.
Here's how I work:
1. We have our first contact, and I discover your needs
We somehow managed to connect, either by email, phone or in person.
Furthermore, we discuss your needs. I need to understand your expectations, and clarify the details of the project. This may include location, type of photos desired, type and target audience for these photos, date of shooting, backup date (in case of bad weather), etc.
2. Quote creation
Based on the information you provide, I draw up a detailed quote. This can include production costs, travel expenses, delivery times, payment terms, etc.
For your convenience, my price list is shown here below.
3. Order confirmation
Once you have accepted the quotation, an order confirmation is issued, detailing the agreed terms and conditions. In many cases, the quotation is a "contract-quotation", which we simply sign to accept its contents and confirm your order.
At this stage, the most important thing is to confirm the shooting dates. Of course, if the shoot requires the presence of actors or other entities, it will then be specified who is the "conductor" of the big day.
4. Shooting preparation
If necessary, I will scout the terrain to assess flying conditions and shooting angles.
Discussion with you, to validate the final settings, discussion with any DOP (director of photography) or any graphic designer that will "work on my work after me", etc.
It's sometimes necessary to request flight authorizations. I take care of this.
I prepare my equipment, check that the necessary authorizations are in place if the flight requires them, and plan any useful logistics.
5. Validating the shooting day
As the weather is only predictable a few days before, we have a brief exchange between 48 and 72 h before the D-Day to decide if the weather is what we need to get the photos we want. If the weather's against us, we stick to the backup date, and if necessary, we can plan another date, you know, safe is safe.
6. Shooting - The big day
I shoot according to the plan. Taking care of our requirements and what we've agreed.
By the way, It's also possible to provide a screen so that a DOP can validate the work directly on site.
7. Post-production
Once the shots have been taken, I get down to the post-production.
This can include image processing, colors adjustments, removal of imperfections, and so on. The duration of this phase varies according to the quantity to be sorted and the number of photos to be delivered.
8. Delivery of the final product
When the post-production is complete, I deliver the final product to you, as agreed.
The delivery is high-definition digital files, either in full size, or already in the desired dimensions. Delivery is usually via a Dropbox link.
9. Follow-up and after-sales service
I provide a follow-up to validate your full satisfaction and resolve any possible problems.
Additional services such as prints, additional editions, or additional flying and shooting sessions can also be offered.
10. Your payment
As all work deserves to be paid, once my work has been completed and delivered, you have 30 days to proceed to the payment.
If your assignment is important, and requires a certain investment on my end, such as plane tickets, car rentals, hotels, etc., you will be asked to pay between 30 and 50% of the final amount, at the time of order.
